Sometimes the worst writing day ever

turns out to be the best writing day ever.

Banged our heads against the wall for six hours today. The only thing left of the script is a pile of index cards. Again. I’m thinking: holy shit, we’re going to have to start over from the beginning, and I just don’t have the fucking energy for it.

Everything worked out in the end, though. We’ve been examining the inciting incident for three days. Finally, we’ve cracked it. On to Act 2A: “A car is a lifeline.”

At the Uptown Writing Retreat we have been working on this full time since July 2nd. Thirteen days left. We promised ourselves a final draft by July 31st.

August is for Producers.
