I am here

I am here at the lake in Rockhammar to make a blood sacrifice to the Goddess for my oldest friend who is sick with cancer. Just a small drop of blood in the water can be a powerful thing, especially when the lake is so calm that it perfectly reflects the sky above. I had planned to stick my finger with a needle, but, when I pull out the travel sewing kit I’ve brought for that purpose, the needle has mysteriously disappeared. The Goddess finds a way, though. As I scramble up the rocky shore, I grab a tree for support and prick my finger on a thorn. There is the blood and there is the sacrifice. I cool the puncture in the water and ask the Goddess to help my friend. Now, it is up to Her. She will either heal him, or She will carry him home in Her loving arms.
