A personal note on my car: it’s the best car I’ve ever had and the only one I’ve owned outright. Lil Daisy has transformed my life. Not having a car in America is just too damn hard. I did public transport in New Orleans for 7 years. It’s a cross between a Disneyland ride, pokey and full of tourists that can’t walk two blocks, and some kind of second world bullshit: one bus an hour, ridiculous transfer times, bizarre routes: it felt like it was designed to keep a girl down. Bikes? Yeah, I have one. But try carrying film gear on your bike. Show up sweaty and stinky to the job, and the client thinks he’s dealing with amateurs. So thank you, Lil Daisy for running so good and being just big enough to fit all our gear in and for being fuel efficient and a stick shift, which makes the kids less likely to steal you. Love you Lil Daisy. Love you for a really long time.
