Daneeta Jackson of the Elektrik Zoo creative partnership performed live projections at the New Orleans Fringe Festival Friday and Saturday. This performance marked the 4th collaboration with Chard Gonzalez, dancer, choreographer and founder of the Chard Gonzalez Dance Theatre.
The projections were a collage of clips downloaded off of Youtube and original Elektrik Zoo generated video. The images were mixed in as many as six different video frames. “I wanted to experiment with the messiness of overlapping frames,” said Jackson. “Chard structured the dance around different stages in life from childhood to sexy 20’s to old age, and I wrapped themed images around that.”
Chard Gonzalez Dance Theatre is a recently established nonprofit organization based in New Orleans.
