after several days in the Svinnersta countryside, Joe makes a speedy break for the train. Well, “speedy” is maybe the wrong word for a stroke victim, but I can see the glee in his face as he hobbles away from us, his family. We have been too much for him with our demands and opinions about how he should live his life…our insistence that he break with his hard-won freedom and solitude to insert himself into the Swedish system of elder care.
