Now is the time to close ranks. Now we protect our land and our water. Hello New Orleans. Good morning. We are on the front line of Climate Change and harmful commerce. We do battle everyday with money men who would dredge canals and widen locks and build pipelines through our sacred wetlands and historic neighborhoods. As our land collapses into the sea, weak with a thousand cuts, we sell our state to oil and commerce and dirty, dirty industry. No more, I say. Let us break up with the beasts of industry. Let us put healthy homelands above petrochemical baubles. Let us go green for the sake of the children and grandchildren and, yes, the elderly who grow tired of destruction and remember the days when a person could live off the land. This break up will take sacrifice. We will leave our cars at home once in a while. We will eat less meat. We will reduce our dependence upon even domestic energy. That dirty energy. And once we sacrifice these small things, we can take the power back to the people, and the people will protect the resources, and we will lead the rest to a green revolution.
