6 Aug 2015 The adults came home one day a long time ago with three kites and three blow up water floats, one for each of us. They’d rented a camp on Grand Isle, and we drove for hours during the night to arrive on the sandy beach at sunrise and to swim in the brown salty waters of the Gulf. I can hardly access that memory now, it’s been a span of decades. Here is Grand Isle today. Now we are the adults eating sandwiches and drinking ice cold bottles of beer as we bury our feet in the sand, throw the football out and then dive for it into the murky waters. Floating and buzzed, I feel the freedom of letting go. I feel the history of awakenings. #GrandIsle #swimming #awakenings 0

5 Aug 2015 Dominique the Dancer left for Istanbul a few years ago. Where she is now is anybody’s guess, but I imagine her somewhere cold like Russia, maybe. Or northern Japan, having an adventure in dance and life. She struck me as that kind of girl for the brief moment I knew her. #DominiqueTheDancer #dance 0

24 Jul 2015 I knew Tyrin from his involvement with Louisiana Outdoors Outreach Program. We made a video for them a year before their beloved leader and founder of LOOP, Dan Forman died. We interviewed and filmed Tyrin out on Cane Bayou on the Northshore. He navigated the canoe like he’d been doing it all his life, which he practically had thanks to LOOP. It was just one day we spent with him and one other day we met him randomly after Dan had died. He reiterated his love for LOOP and for cars. That was Tyrin out. A few weeks later we read in the paper he’s been shot in his car in Bayou St. John. He was 19, which makes it even more senseless. And also: no one was held accountable for this shit. I think about you, Tyrin, I hold you in my heart. #gunssuck 0
