Rounding the bend toward the 2nd bridge, there is a little clearing with a gigantic ant hill that reaches to my waist. It looks frozen, but I don’t want to poke it to find out. No telling what kind of ant will appear. On either side of the trail are hibernating blueberry bushes. Karin says we must come back in summer. I want to come in August to harvest the berries. This 5k trail is a different thing all together in summer. For one thing, there is no need for both a down jacket and down vest. There is no need for layers. You can practically run naked.
