The Elektrik Zoo’s Daneeta Loretta Saft has been published in the Guardain. “Blood is Thicker than Floodwater” was published on the first anniversary of Hurricane Katrina’s rampage through Saft’s native Southeast Louisiana and surrounding areas. “I write a lot of creative non-fiction that is based in autobiography,” says Saft. “I’m quite transparent about my life in my writing. This article was difficult, though. I was being transparent with the lives of my family. It didn’t go down so well, but they have forgiven me now…I hope.”
