“These are the disposable in our society. They live in a war zone. The battleground is right in front of us. But we do not see.” This is a still and quote from our experimental documentary “Requiem for Tyrin.” The film asks why black lives matter so little in New Orleans through a series of letters written about a black teen who was murdered in 2013. The film was made possible with support from The Magnifying Glass Fellowship, @artlessmedia and the New Orleans Film Festival. You can see this film in October at the along with our narrative short “Nicabob.”
