This is the MRGO. It’s about a mile from where I stay. This was originally a cypress swamp. Then industry needed a shorter route from NOLA to the Gulf. So, they plowed through the swamp creating a water highway. It was up this highway that the storm surge of Katrina rode a destructive path. Cypress swamps slow things down. We can protect our resources. We can create long-term employment, and we can leave destructive industries behind. We are the stewards. It says so in every sacred text. Let us commit now. Let us protect the water, the food, and the livelihood of our local peoples against the corruption from the top. Let us look to the left and look to the right and join hands.
