Patrick took this photo back in January when we were scouting for “Little Baby Eyes.” Light has a very strange relationship to weather here in New Orleans. Winter is particularly beautiful. The light has a certain quality. The fog is surreal and dreamlike and lends itself well to Magic Realism. Patrick has always liked to shoot in winter. Maybe it’s because he’s from Northern Europe. Our script is set in the winter time. As I sweat and write, I dream about winter.
