Whilst in the Motherland, we go to see two exhibits of the Swedish master of watercolor, Lars Lerin. There is not much I can say about this genius except I’m awed by his zealous use of black, which, if you’ve studied watercolor from YouTube videos, is a no no. He loves to break himself some rules. You will have to google him. A warning, though, these paintings are so breathtaking, so skilled and captivating that they might cause you to experiment with the medium as well. Heed the call. Do not ignore it. It won’t let you go until you put paint to paper. Make an absolute mess and try, try again. You become the master after one thousand tries. Or two thousand, or ten thousand. I don’t know. Becoming a master is long and forever.
